“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” ~Proverbs 22:6
Follow these easy tips to help guide the children in your life.
“I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11) Make time every day for family devotions! Before bed, at the dinner table, or in the car on the way to school… set a time to create a daily habit! This will build a strong foundation of truth for your family to stand on though the ups and downs life will bring.
- Family Time
Speaking of family, make time for yours! In our house we have a “technology free hour” before dinner and we make it a point to have dinner at the table every night where we all share the best part of our day.
- Be a Blessing! “To whom much is given, much is required.” Luke 12:48 Volunteer as a family, bake cookies and deliver them to a neighbor, donate toys and gently used clothing to kids in need, the list goes on. Find ways to actively give back and “love your neighbor” alongside your family members, demonstrating what it looks like to bless others and build Godly character in your kids!
- Proper Exercise
1 Chronithians 6:19-20 says “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” Recess & Results Rejoice at Recess program is one way for parents to not only help their kids get the exercise they need, but to have fun + rejoice in the Lord while doing it too!
