Whose applause are you looking for? It’s easy to strive for the affirmation that we can find from the world. A pastor once wrote this heading in his sermon, “We need to live for the applause of the nail-scarred hands.”
As mothers it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of believing that you have to do everything. That the little things don’t matter. After all, is being a wife and mother really that important? What about being a helper during children’s church on Sundays? It surely doesn’t matter all that much if you attend a mid-week service does it? However, if you read Isaiah 66:13 you’ll see that the Lord’s comfort is compared to that which a mother gives her child. Even though being part of the children’s church staff may not win you many accolades, a child knows how special they are. Countless children have come to know the Lord through the years as a direct result of a children’s church or Sunday school worker. As far as those mid-seek services go, it may simply be your chance to encourage someone. Hebrews 3:13 tells us to, “encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today.'”
Make a Difference
Recess & Results is another example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of others, especially children. It allows you to not only provide them with fun and fitness, but also a Christ centered program. It helps you to fill a need in your community.
Christian Mom Thoughts
Here are my Christian Mom thoughts. If you don’t hear the applause of those around you, that’s O.K. Just remember, you are living for the applause of the nail-scarred hands.
